Dear Friend,

The Brennan Center for Justice invites you to a discussion to mark the release of our new report: Domestic Intelligence: New Powers, New Risks.

The report raises concerns about the implementation of the 2008 Attorney General’s Guidelines for Domestic FBI Operations and meaningful oversight of domestic counterterrorism efforts. The panel will discuss domestic intelligence gathering, the needs of law enforcement, and the impact on Muslim communities.

Please join us for a lively discussion with a panel including:

· Representative Rush Holt, Chairman (2007 -2010), Select Intelligence Oversight Panel

· Emily Berman, Author, Domestic Intelligence: New Powers, New Risks

· Shahid Buttar, Executive Director, Bill of Rights Defense Committee

· Daveed Gartenstein-Ross, Director of the Center for the Study of Terrorist Radicalization, Foundation for Defense of Democracies

Moderated by Michael Isikoff, National Investigative Correspondent, NBC

Light snacks, beverages and discussion to follow.
